The MacNaughton Cup - given to the WCHA regular-season champion - returns to Mariucci Arena for the first time in nine years tonight, representing the first of what figures to be many team and individual awards presented to the Gophers this season.
"Most Improved Player" isn't listed on many official ballots, but any such voting among the Gophers undoubtedly would earn defensemen Mike Vannelli and Alex Goligoski their share of support.
