To those great Gophers fans who think you can win at Minnesota needing only the outstanding basketball players from this state, I want to point out that the current team has four starters from the Twin Cities area. The team has struggled most of the season and likely will finish at the bottom of the Big Ten.
Spencer Tollackson, Dan Coleman, Lawrence McKenzie and Jamal Abu-Shamala were all outstanding local high school basketball players and, except for Abu-Shamala, were recruited hard by Division I teams.
