THE M25 will be turned into a superhighway of 12 lanes on its busiest section as part of a roads revolution announced today. Transport Secretary Alistair Darling is today unveiling a package of radical proposals as he accepted that the only way to stop the jams that cripple the M25 is to widen it. His plans to tackle nationwide congestion will cost a total of 6 billion and are also expected to include: Widening the M1 between London and the South Midlands including eight lanes south of Milton Keynes.
