Tsuyoshi Kakefuda, 77, a cancer researcher for more than 40 years who also promoted a productive relationship between the United States and Japan, died of liver disease June 16 at his home in Potomac. For 34 years, Dr. Kakefuda worked at the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda. He initially worked in the department of molecular carcinogenesis and later in the Office of International Affairs.
