Location: Oman covers 115,800 square miles of the south-east peninsula of the Arabian Gulf, bordering United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Saudi Arabia with coasts on both the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman.

The geography covers barren fjords in the north, mountains reaching nearly 10,000 feet, plains, deserts and green hills in the south.

Climate: With desert plains covering much of the interior, the weather in Oman is dry and hot.

Average temperatures in Muscat range from 25 degrees Celsius in winter to 43 degrees Celsius in summer. Humidity can be high on the coast.
