There should be something goofy about a guy who wants to build a boat out of 165,321 corks.

John Pollack uses the word himself as he opens his tale of an obsessive odyssey to construct just such a useless craft. But he also describes it as being in the same "lunatic, triumph-of-the-human- spirit category" as a Baltimore street performer.

Now it's fine when somebody standing on the outside takes your story and uses such overblown ...
