I fail to understand how venturing into space is our destiny {"A Base on the Moon, op-ed, June 14}, while solving earthly problems is not. Charles Krauthammer attempts to discredit objections to the space station by convincing us that "adventure" and "capturing the imagination" are worth tens of billions of dollars.
