Thieu Trung Nguyen lived a brief but eventful life. He was a lieutenant in the South Vietnamese army during the Vietnam War, escaped his homeland with the "boat people" after the fall of Saigon, worked his way across the world as a translator in Red Cross refugee camps and became a history teacher at Brighton High School . . . all in 48 years. Mr. Nguyen, who died of pancreatic cancer Wednesday in his home in Framingham, also taught English at Dalat University in Vietnam, his alma mater, before he entered the South Vietnamese army.
