One would think she must be here. If there were any place to find the ideal young American woman, the runway of the Miss America Pageant would be the site to begin the search. Just a first glance would encourage you to start in Atlantic City; indeed, maybe go no further: Onstage, the 50 contestants are overwhelming, even in endless rehearsals, even in sweat pants and T-shirts.
