Elizabeth Konig's suggestion that the Chesapeake Bay Bridge toll be increased to $3, with no tolls on weekends [letters, Aug. 20], will never see the political light of day. During the week, the bridge is an essential link for those who must cross the bay to get to and from jobs, deliver goods, etc. Ms. Konig's plan would require those who must use the Bay Bridge daily and year-round to subsidize vacationers who use it only during summer weekends.
