Chrysanthemums may be autumn's cover girl in the horticulture world, but roses will always be the reigning garden beauty for Charles Anctil. With favorable weather, his roses bloom continually from mid-May into November. Looking like a breath of spring air in defiance of the inevitable cold of winter, roses color his yard in shades of pink, red, yellow and white. Some are 16 years old. There are a few chrysanthemums, but they are relegated to a secluded side of the house.
