I was looking through old files on my computer and I found this, which I wrote last year. In the spirit of self-deprecating humor, I devote this column to a joke that seems funnier as I grow more distant from it.

Some people call me the Quick Poetaster

Anyone can write trite poetry, but I write it faster

I jot down the words with remarkable speed

Just a few minutes are all that I need

I have mastered enjambment, alliteration, and rhyme

And I throw it all together in nearl...
