The 111th Season of the BBC Henry Wood Promenade Concerts opens on 15 July and runs until 10 September, a season whose general outlines have become well established under the years of Nicholas Kenyon's direction. Three designated themes, The Sea, Fairies, and anniversary concerts run through the season. Despite felicitous choices some missed opportunities may be regretted.
