Harold Pinter, at 63 years, is clearly the leading dramatist in the UK. His latest play, 'Moonlight,' is a 75 minute piece that recently opened at London's Almeida Theater. The UK recently celebrated a luncheon in his honor, following his loan to the British Library of his papers, including manuscripts for his 26 plays, 17 screenplays and sketches, prose and poetry. Despite his critical acclaim, Pinter is still being attacked by the British press, which uses recycled quotations and anecdotes that may mostly be hearsay.
