Magic was Margaret Midland's favorite word.
Her idea always was to add a little magic to whatever creative endeavor was taking place, said Alfred Nott, a creative collaborator with Midland for 30 years.
Midland, owner and artisan of the Court of the Gargoyles Shop at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival from 1981 to 1992, died Tuesday after a stroke in Cherokee, Iowa, said her son, Tom, of LeMars, Iowa. She was 74.
