The all composite, centerline thrust A500 is certified and customer deliveries have already begun. The first Serial Number 005, was handed overto a Colorado Springs businessman. Adam Aircraft hopes to make good on its goal of producing six of the Rutan-designed twins per month. As much as 65% of the A500's now-certified parts will be used in the production of Adam's A700 personal jet, which is reportedly on track for a late 2006 certification. Adam reports a backlog of about 80 A500s and just under 300 A700s, a mounting to three-quarters of a billion dollars in orders.
