Totafot (the T word) had been rendered as frontlets, phylacteries in Greek (amulets) and as tefellin (an aid in prayer). It is a word loaned from the Egyptians over two hundred years ago when the Hebrews were made slaves of the Egyptians. The T word mirrors two aspects of the Divine finger: the power of creation and the characteristics of lawgiver and scribe. An object referred to by the T word would supersede the spells and incantations.
