Abstract. Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are two processes that transform energy and affect concentrations of carbon dioxide and oxygen in air and water. In this lesson, middle school students use graphing calculators and calculator-based laboratory units to measure dissolved oxygen in water and graph their results to gain an understanding of the relationship between photosynthesis and cellular respiration.
