Inbreeding is little understood by most people, including many livestock breeders. But if you know what you're doing, it's the surest way to improve your stock.

There are two methods of breeding: inbreeding and outbreeding.

The closest inbreeding possible', is self-fertilization. It is the union of the egg and sperm of the same individual to form a new individual, and it is practiced to a great extent among certain plants and to a very small extent in the animal kingdom.
