Baby Boy B. died on Nov. 11 without ever leaving Greater Southeast Community Hospital. He had spent his 12 days of life in an incubator on intravenous feedings and a ventilator. When he died, he weighed 1 1/2 pounds. Unfortunately, Baby Boy B.'s death was not unusual; he was the 33rd infant born at Greater Southeast to die in 1990.
