All the publicity for Neil Jordan's film of a Graham Greene novel has concentrated on the overexposure of Ralph Fiennes's bottom. But, says ALEXANDER WALKER, this is missing the point
IT seems to me that the makers of The End of the Affair, in particular producer Stephen Wool-ley, aren't doing Neil Jordan's fine film a favour by concentrating public attention on Ralph Fiennes's bare bottom. Admittedly, it's that expressive part of him which has got the film - unfairly in my view - classified as suitable only for those aged 18 and over.
Mr Woolley could have appealed the film censors' verdict...
