I see signs of my own mother in Marjorie Williams ["Telling the Real, Real Truth," op-ed, Dec. 13]. As my mother fought cancer during the final two years of her life, I saw the struggles she endured as a result of chemotherapy sessions. The signs of fear and pain were never more vivid than when she had to explain to my brothers and me the truth about her condition.
