There are dozens of families with young children living in the Redmond Avenue neighborhood in North Reading, but the sidewalks are so poorly maintained they are impassable to anyone wheeling a stroller and dangerous for toddlers. To make matters worse, the streetlights aren't turned on, so at night a quick stroll from one house to the next has become a potentially perilous adventure.
