Workers have voted to create a powerful 2 million-strong "super union" with members at most FTSE 100 companies and ambitions to grow even bigger.
Leaders of the new "industrial giant", to be formed from a merger of the Transport and General Workers' Union (T&G) and Amicus, predicted that the as yet unnamed organisation would amalgamate with unions in Britain and abroad.
