There's a new spring in NBC's step lately, with the Peacock confidently anticipating future triumphs rather than glancing over its shoulder at the rapidly closing competition.
That's what a good sweeps month will do for you. It was just four weeks ago that NBC seemed to have a fight on its hands for season-long supremacy in the adults 18-49 category that keeps advertisers the happiest.
Now a month later, the Peacock has doubled its lead over second-place Fox, and NBC execs, in their less reserved moments, are already talking about victory in the demo season to come.
