Months have already passed and millions of dollars have been donated or pledged in aid to the victims of the Asian tsunami. Following the initial relief to provide food and emergency shelter, attention is now turning to plans for rebuilding the infrastructure of the affected areas. What initiatives have been launched to support the library and information communities? Damage and needs assessments are still under way, with priority for expenditure being given to urgent needs ranging from health and education to housing and security.
