THE SULFURIC ACID MARKET is about to undergo a change to its production landscape. Peridot Chemicals (Georgia) Inc. will start construction of a new 700-ton-per-day sulfuric acid plant at its manufacturing facility in Augusta, Ga. The new plant will replace an existing 400-ton-per-day plant built in 1967.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $20 million and is expected to be completed by the end of 1997.
The plant is specifically designed to produce an oleum product that will supply via pipeline DSM America Inc.'s adjacent caprolactam plant, Since the inception of Peridot's plant,...
