Stud Terkel's radio interview of Richard Stern is transcribed to try to convey in written text the warmth and sensitivity as well as skill of the interviewer in drawing out the humanness of the interviewee. The interview is on Stern's book, 'Sistermony,' which is about his sister, their relationship, their shared characteristics, her struggle against cancer and her eventual death.
