GIRLS have been on top for years in stand-up comedy - but the sting may be drawn in the new century. That, at least, is the impression of two of the most popular acts on the Fringe this year.
Suki Webster is a relative newcomer, a likeable lass with pigtails, tight jeans, a bare midriff and an attitude towards men that gets no harsher than likening them to carpets: 'Lay them right, and you can walk on them for years.' Ouch! But this is a far cry from the Lysistrata line of withdrawing all favours and staying with the girls.
