I awake to a bright, white light.
Rubbing my eyes in the dark of my compartment, I sway with the gentle motion of the train. The light outside my window is blinking, like a signal; on, off, on.
It is the moon, flashing through a forest of impossibly tall pine trees growing up from deep ravines to rake the sky.
