The NCAA infractions committee yesterday placed St. Bonaventure on three years' probation, cited its former president for unethical conduct and banned its men's basketball team from postseason play next month, penalties stemming from last year's player eligibility scandal. The committee also accepted St. Bonaventure's self-imposed penalties, which included reducing the number of men's basketball scholarships by two in 2004 and one in 2005, and cutting the number of on-campus recruiting visits.
