Concerned about the tenor of the heated public discussion over parking spaces at the new Batchelder Elementary School, North Reading selectmen last week voted not to reappoint Howard Solomon to the Historic District Commission. Solomon, a volunteer who served 13 years on the commission, had been its chairman for the last six. The commission and the Elementary School Building Committee have been at odds over adding to the number of parking spaces at the school.
