YOKOHAMA, Japan - Hidetoshi Nakata was mouthing the words of the Kimigayo last night, which means nationalism is no longer considered "dasai" - uncool - in Japan. Nakata once claimed he would not sing the national anthem because of its emperor-glorifying, jingoistic intentions. The right-wing fringe differed with Nakata, and he took their death threats seriously, hiring 24-hour personal security, avoiding media interviews and, eventually, moving to Italy.
