Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif was fired by Pres Ghulam Ishaq Khan after he threatened to join forces with Benazir Bhutto to strip the president of some of his constitutional powers. Interim prime minister Balakh Sher Mazari is not as ambitious.
