The mainstream press should hang its head in shame over the depths to which its standards have plunged in covering the Bill Clinton affair. For the sake of voyeurism, pure and simple, with no regard for the story's relevance to the candidacy, the press is trivializing yet another presidential election. Running simultaneous editorials decrying the process (as if it's all beyond the press's control) is not good enough. Even if sex does sell, reputable newspapers like yours owe it to the public to exercise some judgment and restraint before repeating sleaze about a candidate appearing in a tabloi...
