Byline: Darrin Youker Aug. 24--Efforts to complete a recreation trail between Reading and Philadelphia just took a big step forward. The Schuylkill River Heritage Area officially opened a 1.8-mile section of trail from Pottstown to Douglassville with a ceremony Wednesday. Except for a few gaps, the new section makes for a continuous connection from Reading to Philadelphia. Still to be completed are a small section by Birdsboro and one between Pottstown and Phoenixville.
