Monarch Notes 01-01-1963 Krapp's Last Tape: Analysis and Critique History. A technical tour de force and probably the most famous of Beckett's shorter plays, Krapp's Last Tape was written directly into English soon after Beckett completed Endgame in 1957. It was first performed at the Royal Court Theater in London, on October 28, 1958, on the same bill with Endgame.
