Architect Makoto Sei Watanabe designed the village hall of the town of Sakauchi-mura in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, using a concept that minimized intrusion into the panoramic view of the region. The building features roofs that cast complex shadows as the sun moves to emphasize the passage of time. Its main space features a glass wall and serves as the community hall. The building is surrounded by magnificent landscapes that accentuate that serenity of the place.
