S & S Dismisses Allen Peacock Amid Author Protests
Thirteen authors, including Stanley Elkin, William Gass, John Hawkes and Robert Coover, voiced dismay this week at "the abrupt and baseless dismissal" of senior editor Allen H. Peacock by Simon & Schuster.
Their letter, a copy of which was obtained by PW, was addressed to chairman and CEO Richard Snyder.
