S&K PROFITS JUMP 29.7% IN QUARTER
RICHMOND, Va. (FNS) -- S&K Famous Brands reported that earnings before extraordinary items rose 29.7 percent in the third quarter and 12.7 percent for the nine months ended Oct. 28.
In the quarter, earnings before insurance proceeds for inventory damaged during the Hugo hurricane rose to $317,500, or 14 cents a share, from $244,800, or 12 cents, in the year-ago period. A $110,000, or 5-cents-a-share, gain from insurance proceeds pushed net income in the recent quarter to $427,500, or 19 cents.
Sales increased 16.3 percent to $13,070,400 from $11,235,000. ...
