PHILADELPHIA (FNS) -- Strawbridge & Clothier reported profits plunged 93.1 percent against the year-ago quarter, which the company described as "extremely successful."
Earnings in the three months ended May 4 slid to $212,000, or 2 cents a share, from $3,090,000,or 33 cents, in the year-ago period. Sales were off 1 percent, slipping to $207,092,000 against $209,249,000.
