PHILADELPHIA (FNS) -- With the help of lower costs and better margins, Strawbridge & Clothier narrowed its first-quarter loss to $988,000 from a year-ago loss of $4.3 million.
Sales for the quarter ended April 30, rose 5.7 percent to $208.3 million from $197.2 million.
