We had thought the summer controversy over the plagiarism by former BU Dean Joachim Maitre was a thing of the past. But with school reopening, Maitre and others at the university, apparently worried about student reaction to Maitre's continued employment on the faculty (he did lose his deanship), have mounted a glib defense of his behavior.
