It is interesting to note that for the American edition of Remembering Babylon, the library cataloguing information puts David Malouf's eighth novel into two categories: "Frontier and pioneer life - Australia" and "Australian aborigines - Fiction." It will not come as a surprise, then, to discover a light historical romance in the tradition of Seven Little Australians.
