Henny Youngman tucked his violin under his arm and started machine- gunning one-liners at Dayton's Beth Abraham Synagogue.

"I told my doctor, 'I broke my leg in two places. What do I do?' " the comedian said, perfectly deadpan. "He told me, 'Don't go to those places.' " The audience roared.
