Rare or revised editions of Harriette Simpson Arnow's 'Mountain Path' and 'Hunter's Horn' exist. Fifty of these were distributed to the writer's family and friends whom she feared might be offended by the flap copy in the jacket of the two books. The text described the lifestyle of Arnow and her family in the Kentucky hills. A reading of her correspondence reveals that she did request for the presses to be stopped. Because it was too late to do so, the editor simply printed 50 altered editions after the original pressing.
