Courtland Milloy's column on racism {Metro, Oct. 23} quotes "one study" as finding that 2 1/2 times as many blacks are fired from federal government jobs as are whites. I have just finished a 30-year-plus stint with the Department of Commerce and would like to see the methodology of such a study, if it in fact exists. The reason? Because it is common knowledge that the vast majority of dismissals take the form of forced resignations or forced retirements.
