``PUDD'NHEAD WILSON,'' which opens Thursday at the American Theater in Hampton, offers a glimpse of Mark Twain's serious side. It's also somewhat of a triumphant return to Hampton Roads for Jimonn Cole, who began acting locally at the Virginia Governor's School for the Arts and went on to play Shakespeare in New York and Los Angeles.
``Pudd'nhead Wilson'' is presented by The Acting Company of New York. The group was founded by the legendary John Houseman and is dedicated to adapting American literature to stage.
