While work to ban smoking in public places in Pennsylvania captured much attention in the waning days of the last legislative session, lawmakers were able to pass a significant health care initiative.
The legislation, part of Gov. Rendell's Prescription for Pennsylvania, is an effort to eliminate what's called hospital- and health-facility acquired infections.
