READY for a Rocky ride?" quipped a passenger as I climbed aboard Train No 5 bound for Prince Rupert, a soggy fishing port on the far west coast of Canada. For the next two days I would indeed be riding up and over the Rockies, from the bear-infested forests of Jasper National Park to the 12,969ft peak of Mount Robson, through the mystic Interior Plateau of British Columbia, then down to the wild and wooded shores of the Pacific.
